A great addition to any wardrobe: western belts

Western belts come in a variety of designs. In old movies, you only saw the classic, plain leather gun belts, but in reality, western belts come in many interesting designs. Western belts combine the toughness of leather with silver and bead ornaments to create interesting accessories.

In western wear, the belt is essential. Some people may argue that only the buckle is important, but the belts themselves are just as important to the wardrobe. From designs consisting of replica half dollars to bone beads, the belt can as outrageous or subtle as you want.

When choosing western belts for your wardrobe there are a couple of things you should look for. First, check the leather. The leather should be smooth but tough. Western belts usually come in the two basic colors of brown and black leather. Basketweave belts make for a great alternative to the run of the mill one piece leather belts. As for the accents, concho accents are the most common with tip ornaments coming in second.

Second, you should look for silver buckles. There are many belts being sold with "silver-tone" buckles which seem to peel and lose their luster much faster than real silver buckles. Western belts make a great addition to any wardrobe, whether it's for a real bull-riding cowboy or just a normal city slicker cowboy wannabe.
